I bought this book based on all the positive reviews I saw on Amazon, and, if that is possible, it completely exceeded my expectations. This book will make you learn about a particular era in Argentinean politics, will make you travel through South America, will make you appreciate friendship, will make you laugh, will make you cry, and most of all, will make you FEEL. The writing style flows beautifully, and your imagination will transport you easily to the places and situations described by the author. The ending is very moving, and months after having finished this book, it has still stayed with me. By far one of the best reads of 2016 and a future re-read for me.

If you are an animal lover, a must read. Heartwarming true story, once again proving the strong bond we as humans have withour fellow inhabitants on the place we call Earth. I think as humans we somehow feel superior and in control of who we pick as our"pets", "I want a chocolate lab, or a gray cockatoo" and yet I find that they more often pick you, at least that has been my experience,and this is a case in point. It also poignantly points out the damage humans inflict everyday on our precarious relationship with ourenvironment. It would have been a 5 star for me, but to be fair the writing rambles a bit at times, that said, it is his first book andcertainly told from the heart.

This is one of those books that won't let go - so many elements to ponder! It keeps turning up in my thoughts even though it has been some time since reading. I have given it to my sister, children, grandchildren, and friends. Everyone is touched by the story. I guess it is time to reread.

My attention was held from beginning to end. Anyone who has had an animal companion will love this true story of an intelligent loving and lovable penguin and his young man. The author is telling this story forty or more years after it happened but the emotions and laughter are as fresh as if it wss happening right now. The end of the book tskes the story and puts it into the context of our present day environmental dilemma and continued to be just as compelling as the story.

I enjoyed this book immensely. If you are an animal lover, I think this one is for you. It recounts Tom Michell's experiences as a young man in Argentina (teaching at a private school) who rescues the lone surviving penguin from an oil spill, and cleans him up, then attempts to release him back into the wild. It is entertaining as well as being true.

This is an absolutely delightful book, featuring a rescued penguin, as well as interesting travel stories. My favorite part is probably how swimming with the penguin brought to life a student who hadn't fit in with the other young men before and grew up after just that brief swim. Anybody who is fascinated with penguins should enjoy this wonderful tale.

An unusual and comforting story, about an unusual man and his rescued friend. It points out many lessons in life, not only how to rescue a Penguin but the blessings of that and working far from familiar surroundings with youngsters. I recommend the book without preface.

Fellow law school goers, if you're like me, you're constantly on the hunt for a good deal. And, buying the 5th Edition of this E&E I thought was a great deal! I figured that because I had great success using an older (and therefore cheaper) E&E for Evidence I would easily have great success using this older (and MUCH cheaper) E&E for Con Law.Unfortunately, Con Law has changed much, much more than Evidence and the E&E is seriously out of date. I think it will be in your best interest to bite the bullet and buy the most recent E&E for this subject.But, before you completely lose hope, if you're just looking for practice questions and hypos, get this copy and use the questions -- those have been very helpful. If you do that, be warned that you're not going to be able to use the model answers because they're simply not going to reflect accurate law.

I just took con law individual rights this semester and this book helped a lot. A lot of my classmates thought so as well. I have the con law hornbook but that was really big and hard to go through because my prof was very detailed and particular about what he wanted us to know. So the E + E was perfect! It is easy to go through, rules are easy to pick out of the text, and substance of the text really fills you in on what is going on and how these concepts all fit together. I would for sure recommend this book for con IR.

These EE books are always very easy to read and understand. This one broke down the topics in sufficient detail for me to grasp the important concepts and also comprehend the bigger picture. Plus, it provides a very effective and easy to use methodology for attacking certain types of con law problems. The examples are fun and practical. I used this book to supplement my regular studying and I got an A in the class. Not bad!!

I love examples and explanations for studying. I think they are a necessity for preparing for finals, and for clarifying any issues.

This book is a great study aid is addition to my case book and class lectures. It provides a clear and concise explanation of the subject and help clarify confusing topics.

We use a typical hornbook for our Constitutional Law class - the information format is dry and academic. I bought this Examples and Explanations book to get another perspective. It provided that and so much more. This book included all of the cases that the hornbook covered, but in a much more interesting format. And even though we are required to read dry, legal textbooks, they are required to be uninspiring. We are talking about every Americans' rights - this should be an exciting topic. And this Examples and Explanations book is just that - inspiring and easy to understand!

Most of these E and E books are very good. The whole point of these books is to get practice on hypotheticals for exam preparation. Thus, it would make sense if this book offered hypotheticals that were different from the main facts of the key cases. However, it doesn't do that. So, when I was hoping to practice hypotheticals for the exam, this book just gave me summaries. This is probably a good aid if you just really need to cram.

I will be returning this book but wanted to let others interested in the DASH diet not to waste their money! This is nothing more than a poorly written book of recipes. There is no nutritional listing, or DASH diet exchange information and sometimes not even number of servings for the recipe. The 7 day meal plan is not included, one has to log onto another website to get that information. I am extremely disappointed!

I am a vegetarian now for how many years and since then I never stop collecting health books & recipes in order for me to experience and taste other delicacies. I got this book out of curiosity as to what Dash diet do, and I may say wow...I learned so many things, new information about diet, as to what foods that needed to be avoided or reduced. Aside from all that information, the mouth-watering healthy recipes are what I love most. I just want to say thank you for the author for providing a photo for every recipes. All the best for this book

I LOVE this book! I've been a vegetarian for 40 years, and although I have no blood pressure problem, I do have a problem with coming up with new and inventive recipes. This book solves that problem. Just the pictures alone are worth it. I can't wait to jump into some of the main courses and try several of the soups. I have a left over pumpkin from the holidays that should be perfect for the pumpkin soup concoction. The pear and walnut breakfast spread is delicious. Yep, if you're into healthy eating, you'll love this book!

Dash Diet for Beginners is a quality guide that explains the basics straight up about this heart healthy diet. I have studied this eating strategy extensively and feel this guide does a nice job explaining the benefits and basic concepts of dash diet eating.The author writes in a logical order with smooth tone and references for backup. This just helps with credibility.Bottom line is I think if you are curious about this diet plan to lose weight and get healthy, then you need to buy this book!

I can't find the included 7 Day Meal Plan. I had trouble accessing to the FREE Dash Hamper ( http://dietcookbooks.co/dashdiet/ ) Disappointed!Update(May 4, 2015): If I remember aright, I somehow contacted via email. Eventually I got its reply that said it was the author's responsibility to take care of the connectable link. Shortly the author did notice my comment and emailed me with the downloadable link. Finally I could print the 7 Day menus and shopping list.

This is just a book of recipes. It doesn't have any information about the DASH diet, nor how these recipes might be used as a part of the diet.

Without much effort, I lost 40 lbs. in six months just by following the principles of the DASH Diet for Vegetarians! Some good recipes in this book, too. And I would not call this a "diet." It helped me completely change the way I eat; I'll be eating this way for the rest of my life.

I'm someone who really enjoys trying different diets lately. I decided to purchase this book because I'm interested in finding out more about the dash diet for vegetarians. this book contains a wealth of information for those getting started in the Dash diet while staying vegetarian. I feel very comfortable recommending this book to others who are looking for this.

The photos suggest that these are complete books. They are more like thin paperbacks. While I intend to read them, and they do contain useful information, the photos are a bit deceptive as far as the length and completeness.

Good and brief overview on Lean six sigma, Lean Analytics and couple more interesting topics. lots of interesting case studies give it a lot of color. I think this is a great book budnle for learning the concepts of Lean Six Sigma, Lean Analytics, Kanban, Scrum and it gives some terrific ideas on how to incorporate into your work environment.

This book bundle helped me a lot to understand how to measure stuff going on with my startup. The clarity that this book provides based on the stage and type of business you are in is incredibly clear (and even visual) and is unrivaled. So much confusion abounds about what to track when and you can literally just point to that page. Very good.

I was bombarded by poor grammar as I started reading, so I promptly returned the book for a refund. I simply cannot trust the content of the book when it has simple to fix grammar issues - it begs the question: what else is wrong?

There are lots of typos and extra spaces in the middle of words. It looks like this title was rushed to publication.

The information in this book is pretty much useless. You'd get better info by just googling "lean". Everything in there is just the obvious stuff. Teaches you nothing. The worst part is that it's written in horrible English... Some sentences make no sense at all. At that price, this is nothing short of a rip off. Wish I hadn't waited so long to start reading, I would have returned it. I bought almost every book on the subject and this is BY FAR the worst.

I returned the audio book (first one I've ever returned) after listening to three of the booklets... the narrator's voice hisses loudly on the "s" sounds, making it hard to listen to. In addition, the content on each topic is a shallow overview, lacking practical depth. I could perhaps see the book being useful for someone who needs to be conversant in these practices without needing to apply them.

As a new RV owner, and long distance hopeful, I was really looking forward to reading this book. Unfortunately, the author chose to make it a political statement from his liberal viewpoint. It is obvious that he disrespects southerners and Christians, and found it hard to understand our conservative views. It would have been a much better book if he had focused only on his travel experience. I also thought leaving the dogs in the back of his truck was weird. I picked it up several times, only to put it back down after 10 or 15 pages - I only got 1/3 of it read but had no hope that it would improve. I will donate to our local library in my conservative little southern town, maybe someone will enjoy it but I did not.

This is a travelogue of America, and there are not very many, with very interesting stories of the places and the people Phil Caputo experiences traveling across the USA from Key West, Florida to Dead Horse, Alaska above the Arctic Circle. Caputo is a skilled professional writer and hecan observe and describe the cultures in a way most of us would miss if we took the same trip. The United States is a large country with cultures as diverse as the landscape and you then realize the unique land and culture we have here. Being a journalist Phil Caputo has the gift of talking, experiencing, and communicating with everyone he meets. That skill, along with a bit of history thrown in, is what makes this book great.Every American should read it. You will not be sorry.

Road-trips, I really like road-trips, whether it is to Sonoita, Arizona, for a Saturday night or as my wife and I did this past July drive to eight states. It is a great feeling awaking in Deadwood, South Dakota, and wondering where we shall drive to today. As such it was with excitement when Philip Caputo’s new book “The Longest Road” was released, as perhaps he and his wife Leslie Ware completed the ultimate road-trip.Phil is an author I have long admired. I still remember reading his epic memoir “A Rumor of War” when I returned home from Vietnam, which remains the work that most, defines that war. I have enjoyed all 15 of his books and also have a special appreciation for his “Acts of Faith” and more recently “Crossers”.Phil and Leslie begin their ultimate road-trip driving 8300 miles from the southernmost point in the United States (Key West, Florida) to the northernmost point at Deadhorse, Alaska. They were accompanied by their two English setters Sage and Sky and traveled with an old 1962 Airstream. Phil has felt America in recent years was growing in anger and division and he simply wanted to discover what is holding people together if anything.The journey was enjoyable reading, not just for the places they visited, but the stories of the people they met. They tended to avoid the interstates and large cities so primarily the travel was through a kinder and gentler nation. He mixes humor throughout the story, especially describing various episodes of exchanges between his wife Leslie and himself. When one is married to a Leslie (which I also am) you know the road traveled will never be dull.I am not sure if Phil really discovered the reason of anger in America or what is keeping people together, although I do know that when I finished this book I felt good and I felt happy.

I liked this book and recommend it to any one interested in travelogues. However, it is more than that, because the author is so good at interviewing that you get to meet and converse with so many folks across the country. It is as if each person is to be a remembrance of the location in which the author finds him.I used my iPad map with my Kindle to follow in detail the trip. It was a great assist, because, for the most part, they were not traveling the interstates.There were many highlights for me and my interests. Fort Clatsop, the turbine farm, Key West, and the Black Hils are among them. Generally, each area is highlighted as a physical presence and the interviews personalize them, with a bit of history to cement it.He is an excellent writer, of course, so his prose is easy to understand, yet thought provoking. It was one of those books which causes you to pause after certain chapters to digest what you just learned. And, for me, there was much learning and many pauses. Not a burden, though, and I hated to see the trip end.As to his politics coloring his commentary. He and I are contemporaries. How anyone who served in `Nam could imagine centralized decision making as better than decentralized is difficult to understand. That said, his conclusive remarks concerning the yin-yang of the USA, Jefferson v. Hamilton, is spot on.It is a worthwhile read, deserving of one's time and concentration. I find these journey books especially fun during long Midwest winters.After reading this book, I'm less inclined to reread Kerouac or Steinbeck and more inclined to reread and rethink Tocqueville.

I loved this book. I read it while on a journey myself and appreciated so much of what Caputo experienced. I've been to a lot of the same places he writes about. He not only gives a great picture of the beauty of America, it's vastness and many variations of cultures, topography, and scenic byways but he has sensitive conversations with the people he meets and their struggles and successes in life with wherever they've chose to set down roots. He discusses the trials of traveling with dogs, mechanical breakdowns, and just going with whatever comes your way. Plus he's a great writer. Similar to Travels with Charley/John Steinbeck but modernized. Highly recommend.

Excellent beginner books for the violin or viola player in their first or second year. Larry Newman has an entire series of music books for violin, viola and cello that are all excellent for players in their first few years. I would not consider these lesson books, but books to supplement beginner players to learn more popular songs. For my young boys, I have the Don't Fret colored finger guide on their 1/4 and 1/2 violins. Then to help them find the correct notes, I will sometimes use a blue, yellow, pink and green or orange highlighter to color the notes on sheet music. I know it's a learning crutch, but it makes finding and playing the correct note faster and easier....the more positive feedback they get in playing a correct note, the longer they stay with learning music and different musical instruments (I hope). I also like the books because the songs are also easy enough for the beginner player to start memorizing songs too. Between the cello, violin and viola, I think we own all of them.

I did not like this book at all. While having basically no advanced technique, some of the fingerings and string changes are impossible, and one piece has a couple notes that are a's two octaves below middle c's...- two notes below the open c string... I don't think that the person who wrote this book had ever picked up a violin, not to mention a viola. I was pleased and would not recommend this book to anyone.

My daughter says it's ok.

I haven't gotten into the book much yet but it looks like what I had wanted.

It's plenty challenging, and I like the music. It's just at the level suggested.

Not what I was looking for - but okay.
